Terms and Conditions
- No purchase necessary. Open to residents of the UK, CI, IoM and RoI aged 16 or over,
excluding employees and their immediate families of the promoter, its agents and
anyone else professionally connected with this promotion and project. Like the
page and Velvet will contribute £1 to a tree planting project on your behalf
- For any pre-existing ’Likes‘ of the Velvet Campaign for Trees Facebook
page (www.facebook.com/velvetsCampaignforTrees)
as of 27/06/11 and any new ’likes‘ to the page up until 31/07/2011 Velvet
will contribute £1 to a ’Trees for Cities‘ project up to a maximum of
20,000 likes /£20,000
- Only one ’like‘ / £1 contribution can be made per person or Facebook
user or email address.
Nominate an area for a tree planting project
- Nominations can only be submitted at
www.facebook.com/velvetsCampaignforTrees
- Please take care when nominating a selected area as there is only one nomination
per person or email address. If a participant's computer is believed to
be being used to circumvent this term by, for example, the use of 'script' or 'brute
force', that person's nominations will be excluded from consideration.
- All nominations must be received by midnight 24 July 2011.
- All nominations will be used to create a shortlist of the 10 most nominated cities
where a tree planting project is feasible and appropriate, once assessed by, and
under the guidance of, Trees for Cities, and will then become available for public
voting from 15 August 2011.
Voting an area for the tree planting project
- Please take care when voting for one of the 10 selected areas as there is only
one vote per person or email address. If a participant's computer is believed
to be being used to circumvent this term by, for example, the use of 'script' or
'brute force', that person's votes will be excluded from consideration.
- The winning area will be the area that has received the most votes by midnight
4 September 2011.
- The Promoter will contribute the amount raised through likes to the Facebook page
as per term 2 and 3 towards the tree planting activity in the winning location.
The promoter will plant the trees through their appointed charity partner, Trees
for Cities.
- The specific area within the winning town or city will be determined by Trees for
Cities experts. This will take into consideration access, places of interest, and
agreements with local authorities, amongst other criteria.
- The type of tree planting project will be determined by Trees for Cities based on
the requirements of the area.
- Trees for Cities decision on the area and tree planting project is final. In the
event of unforeseen circumstances the Promoter reserves the right to substitute
the winning location for an alternative winning location selected in accordance
with these Terms and Conditions. No correspondence will be entered into.
- Trees for Cities will contact the landowner within the winning area to obtain their
permission to plant trees within the winning area. All tree planting projects will
be subject to the permission of the landowner of the winning location. If we cannot
obtain the permission to plant trees within the agreed area, an alternative reserve
area will be selected on the basis of the number of nominations received.
- The details of the winning area and tree planting project will be made available
on www.velvettissue.com in November
2011 for a minimum period of 6 months.
- This promotion is not run or managed by Facebook.
